The Year 7 and Year 8 Christmas Cake Club members and Year 10 GCSE students excelled themselves in our annual Christmas Cake competition.

The standard of entries was exceptionally high and it was very difficult to select a final three but in the end Bella Russell Flint was declared the winner with her creation featuring a trio of angels atop a sparkly blue-topped cake. Fenella Balmforth took second prize with her humorous surprised Santa stuck in the chimney and Emily Lethem was third with a beautiful Christmas Tree design. Head of Food Studies, Claire Kimber said: “I am hugely impressed with the efforts the girls have put into the competition. The Year 7 and Year 8 cakes were exceptional this year and the Christmas Cake Club was such a success we are continuing with a Bake-Off next term.
