On Monday 5 December the Year 7 and Year 8 Drama club put on a performance in front of friends and family in the Dame Judi Dench Theatre. The evening started with a workshop consisting of a movement piece and a task to get the pupils focused and into role. This was followed by an ensemble performance of ‘The Little Match Girl'.

The style of the piece was Physical Theatre, in which the girls created the set and props using their bodies. We were treated to a galloping horse and carriage, a roaring fire and singing Christmas tree. For the first time music was added with the girls' original compositions sung a cappella. Drama is a very popular club and it is always a challenge to create a piece of Drama which gives every child an equal opportunity. We are very proud of the girls and their performance was engaging and full of enthusiasm.
