Our Year 9 pupils will join thousands of teenagers across the country to create their own news website on the BBC. The BBC School Report is a national project that gives 11 – 14 year olds the chance to make news reports for a real audience. On News Day, 15 March, all of the schools involved will give pupils six hours to prepare and broadcast an hour long news show based on that day's stories and on those that they have prepared in the preceding weeks. The programme is broadcast on a special website that is linked to the BBC.

Did Charles Dickens base Bleak House on Abbot's Hill?
Hannah and Imogen investigate Charles Dickens' connection with the house and explore the evidence, including interview with prominent Dickens expert, Dr John Drew from the University of Buckingham. Dr Drew came to the School and Hannah and Imogen presented our archive evidence to him. There were interviews with the Headmistress and the Bursar, both of whom have extensive knowledge about the history of the school and the local area. Dr Drew came to the conclusion that there is some convincing evidence to support the conjecture that Abbot's Hill School could be the original Bleak House. Jordan goes live on BBC Radio London!
Jordan visited the BBC studios yesterday for an interview with Mark Bright and ended up appearing live on air on the Danny Baker show! Jordan got a taste for live broadcasting when Danny invited her into the studio to find out what she was doing at the BBC. Visit this page on Friday 16 March For more on Jordan's interview with Mark Bright about being different – specifically about racism in football.
